leaf 004 | [video; action for Cherrygrove]

[Clover is holding her gear in one hand. While she's in her usual pigtails and earmuffs, her outfit is entirely different. It's clearly a black uniform trimmed with white and topped with a lacy white apron. She's walking away from one of the restaurants in Cherrygrove, looking a little bushed.]

I can't believe I was nearly late for work today! At least I only have to work a couple more days before I get my pay.

...Hey, that rhymed!

[A continuous squawking that sounds like spear-spear-spear-spearow is suddenly heard - which almost sounds like a laugh. She sighs, stops, and looks up to the sky. A Spearow swoops down onto her favorite perch - Clover's shoulder. The girl looks at the Pokémon and gives it The Look. Which, she realizes, is something that she's been doing a lot lately with this one.]

Yeah, I get it, watching me scramble around for my uniform was funny. I get it. You didn't have to follow me to work just to laugh at me, Jackie.

[Jackie doesn't say anything more, but lifts a wing to groom it as they go.]

Yes, I'd have to say that it runs pretty much the same as far as I can tell. There's a few more exotic menu items here though--oh, well, at least to me anyways. I don't know about the world you've come from, almost everyone I've met here is from Japan and finds it perfectly normal.

It might have just been that Route 29 was filled with so many mishaps for me, but the distance between Cherrygrove and Violet is fairly well attended to. There are bug Pokemon though, and they are quite large.

Actually, I'm also from Japan. [A small giggle.

YEAH UM IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO REALIZE THAT HEY THEY'RE FROM JAPAN BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, JAPANESE NAMES.]

Did you catch any bug Pokémon on the way?

Really? I suppose by now I should assume I'll always be the odd one out then; I was born in London. Your hair color is not quite what I expected from Japan, I'd admit. I've never seen anything quite like it.

No, but I can't say that I particularly desire catching them. You see, Hyperion's gets quite skittish when he sees bug Pokemon. Oh yes, Hyperion is my Ponyta [Clive releases said Pokemon from Pokeball. The horse blinks timidly at the screen]--he hatched en route to Violet, and well...we had some unfortunate encounters with some Caterpie shortly after.

[She giggles at that bit about her hair color.]

Wow, he looks real amazing! Maybe...maybe he was just outmatched and needs to train more?

[identity profile] legalapprentice.livejournal.com 2011-08-09 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Why, thank you, Clover. He's already grown quite a bit this past week, though he was already quite large when his egg hatched.

Well, it's the opposite, actually. Hyperion's fire attacks are fairly effective against bug Pokemon, it's just that he's somewhat...reckless, especially around insects. You'll find Route 30 to be missing some of its remarkable foliage, I'm afraid.

It'll grow back?

And that's what training's for.
